MONTREAL, Quebec (CelebrityAccess) — Canadian concert promoter evenko announced plans to bring a new country music festival to Montreal in 2020.
The inaugural Lasso festival, produced in partnership with Universal Music Canada, will land at Montreal’s Jean-Drapeau Park on August 15 & 16, 2020.
A press statement from evenko said they have been plotting the event for the three years and bill it as the “premiere urban country music festival.”
As of yet, no artists have been announced for the fest’s lineup, but Lasso is expected to feature both homegrown talent and international artists. As well, festival organizers have invited country music fans to make requests for their favorite country artist in exchange for a chance to win passes for the festival.
The festival comes as evenko’s parent company Groupe CH announced an extensive partnership with Ticketmaster, covering more than 20 Canadian music venues as well as evenko’s festival portfolio, which also includes OSHEAGA Music & Arts Festival, îLESONIQ, Heavy Montreal, 77’ Montreal, Festival YUL EAT, as well as the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Les Francos de Montréal, Montréal en Lumière and La Nuit Blanche.
