Raquel Rodriguez, who was previously called as Raquel González when she used to appear on NXT, was called up for appearing in the Blue Brand on the week immediately following WrestleMania 38. This promotion is surely a big thing for the newbie to turn the tables around her life. The fans are quite excited to see how Rodriguez will make the SmackDown days special to them.
Raquel Rodriguez spoke her hearts out to Rick Ucchino on the Bleav In Pro Wrestling Podcast about how she proved it to her parents, who had been there everytime supporting for her:
“They just immediately start crying because they, they totally understand. You know, it’s been five to six years for me, since I moved from Texas, the farthest away from my home state. And my family is so very, very close. Like, I talk to my dad every day. So he’s heard every struggle I’ve been going through. Every doubt I’ve ever had. My dad has heard me cry in the mornings. He’s heard me cry at night,” Raquel said fighting back tears. “Sorry, I’m getting emotional. I’m so emotional right now.”
Along with winning the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship partnering with Dakota Kai, she also received a main roster call from the officials in these past weeks itself. So, it has been an amazing adventure for Rodriguez and her family as of now.
Raquel Rodriguez told why NXT is still special for her
Raquel Rodriguez conveyed that NXT will always take up a large space in her heart because she has achieved so much through it and she is very much proud for all of these experiences. She will keep all those sweet memories with her wherever life takes her. She has learnt many things from the Friday nights, but there’s still scope for improvement which she believes she can fulfil appearing as a superstar in the blue brand.
“This is what I’ve been waiting for. It’s what I’ve worked for. This is what all the sacrifices are for. But I definitely took that moment (getting called-up) and I squashed it right away, because I was like, this doesn’t mean you made it. This doesn’t mean that it’s over. You know what I mean? Like this is where the work begins and this is where you really have to start hustling.” She added.
