BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Five Nampa businesses, including four vape shops and one pawn shop, reported attempted break-ins or burglaries early in the morning Tuesday.
A 17-year-old Nampa male is now facing five counts of burglary, 5 counts of vandalism and one count of petit theft.
NPD responded to the businesses through an alarm or phone call. Through surveillance video, officers could identify a potential suspect vehicle. Further investigation connected the vehicle to an earlier call Tuesday morning for a similar vehicle at a local auto dealership at an "unusual time of day."
The investigation, tips and evidence led to the arrest of the 17-year-old.
"We appreciate the community’s investment in crime prevention in their neighborhood and we strongly encourage the public to report activity that is suspicious or unusual as soon as possible," NPD said. "Together we are much more successful at crime reduction and keeping our community safe."
