BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Fire Departments across the Treasure Valley are reporting the fires they dealt with over the 4th of July.
Boise Fire's preliminary report outlines they responded to 31 fires, including structure, grass, and dumpster fires.
This increased from last year when they responded to 25 fires over the holiday.
Meridian Fire says they were able to put out one structure fire with minimal damage to the home and helped extinguish 8 brush fires.
Nampa Fire reports they had no major structure fires, Battalion Chief Hausner said most of their calls were canceled on route and a majority of the calls they responded to were brush fired with one dumpster fire that most likely occurred because of incorrectly disposing of used fireworks.
Departments are sharing all reported fires were out by 10 am this morning. As reports are finalized there is no word on if the 4th of July festivities are what caused each fire, but officials are reminding people to be safe.
